Camco 44560 Olympian RV Aluminum Stack Jack

My new Rv don't have front stabilizer jack, and if I to get an aftermarket one's are not cheep and heavy.

I got 4 cast Aluminum Stack Jacks from Walmart at ~$60 CAD and I am going to try them out next week.

They are very light (7.7lb for all 4) and rated for 6000lb EACH.
the bolt come off easily and remember that last settings - also the bases are stackable.

With 4, I can have 2 in the front, and 2 right next to the wheels - in theory that should eliminate the bounce off... soon to find out.
(I will update later on the performance)
Update:  the 2 stabilizes next to the axle (wheel) DID  eliminate the bounc!
very  impress!

What model Hybrid is this?

I have seen this model before, but I don't remember what model number it was and by whom,
All I know is that this model is an old layout, not been manufacturer anymore

- bathroom in the back
- bunk beds in the back, [u]behind[/u] the bathroom.
- only tow foldouts bed, one at the front and one at the [u]side[/u]
- dinette in the front


Using some images, I have puzzled together the floor plan the way I remember it.

I know Jayco don't visits RV forums like this one, but I really wanted to share it with all of you and get your reaction.

And if by chance this did end up (somehow) getting Jayco attention,
I give you Jayco the approval to use my design!

Pop-up camper awning solutions

The awning bag on my pop-up is shot.

I am looking for solution.
So far this is what I have found: (not my ides)

1. Buy new awning (around the $500 CAD - too expensive)

2. Send the original awning for repair (around the $200 CAD and up...)

3. Store the awning INSIDE the Pop-up while traveling, reattached when camping,
or store the awning  OUTSIDE using a 4" PVC pipe with caps mounted on the Pop-up roof
(a bit of hassle but doable) 

4. Use tarp for awning instead:
 A. Make your own Awning Track Hangers
This is a "Home made" awning using tarp that can been attached to the camper via the C channel.
try to find: 1 inch of 1/4 inch rigid aluminum tubing, on the web try to look for "nylon spacers" or ROUND SPACER,NYL #8 (1/4").

B. Buy Awning Hangers for traps

2008 Rockwood crack in the storage lid

I am looking for solution.

RV Forum - Cracked front storage lid, is it fixable?

So far this is what I have found:
*Often times when cracks appear, crack extends into one corner of the lid (rivets are stress point)

1. Replace the lid with a new one (very expensive)
2.  Replace the lid with a lid home made, wood or aluminum (labor intense)
3.  Drill a small hole (very small) at each end of the crack. This stops the crack from every increasing. Then fill the existing crack and the new drill holes with a bonding product that's designed for the type of product you are fixing: fiberglass, plastic, even wood, the principle is the same. After the bonding material dries, sand and buff out the excess
4. Drill a small hole (very small) at each end of the crack then use "Eternabond" - it's a white tape that is commonly used to fix leaks in RV roofs
5. Temporary fix - use strong Grey Duct Tape to help protect from rain and other elements.

RV Forum - Can I make my pop-up look like new again?

I am looking for solution.
 So far this is what I have found:

1. Acrylic polishes,  bar keepers friend and several layers of inexpensive acrlyic polish (Zep wet look) available at Big Box stores
2. Spray the really bad areas with black streak remover. Then Oxyclean in hot water with a soft scrub brush

 Didn't try ANY of the suggested yet.
